There are 2 key conversations we have every single day: the conversations we have with others and the conversations we have with ourselves. When we talk to ourselves, we often hope to tap into our inner coach but find our inner critic instead. When we’re facing a tough task, our inner coach can buoy us up: you can do this! But, just as often, our inner critic sinks us: I’m going to fail.
These conversations shape our lives, work, and relationships, including our possibilities for promotions, job performance, team work and leadership.
This is an interesting book / article about that self talk.
